I got out some old boxes I haven’t looked at in years trying to find a long lost letter I needed. But instead I came across dozens of poems I wrote years ago, and right on top of the box was a poem I had only thought of recently. And what made me think of it? I saw a poem someone else had written and whatever I focus on manifests with ease. So this poem I had thought of, out of so many poems I had written was the first one I came to on opening the box. The law of attraction again, and on looking through, there were so many I had forgot I’d even written, but I thought this one is a rather good description of a spring day. So as spring is now upon us I thought I would share this. The letter I need will manifest another time.

SPRING INTO SUMMER

Winter mellows into spring

Brings patchwork on a butterfly wing

The sky looks down with eyes of blue

The shower clouds a threatening view

With sunshine playing hide and seek

Behind such clouds that’s strong, then weak

As darkness crawls on shaded hills

The sun shines through, a crevice fills

The smell of farming land ahoy

Curls nostrils of the woodland boy

And resting in the sweet green grass

The damp scents taking over, pass

As sun crawls like a blanket wrap

Across the shoulders down the back

And soft winds breathe on skin to tease

While goose bumps flower in the breeze

As dark clouds end the first spring day

Light drizzle turns to body spray

This freshness of a waking spring

Leads on to summers tranquil thing

The shimmered glowing meadow wheat

Like gold suede shoes on drifting feet

A rustle whines through pastures new

As birds rise, floating over dew

The heated, rippled, melted road

Helps tractors carry heavy load

The shadow hovered midget sky

The prying wasp, the nuisance fly

The lush green valleys worthy sight

No better than at summers height

And as the sun dips till the morn

The stars will light the way till dawn
