An important practice to help you attract whatever you want in life. Whatever job you do, love it or hate it, do it to the best of your ability, even if that is just washing a few dishes, or sweeping the floor for a few bob or even voluntarily. Or doing it for yourself at home, do a good job, focus on what you do, be aware of the task in the moment and enjoy it.

Don’t think, I must get this done then I can get back to something more important, or back to something I enjoy doing. If you have to wash the dishes, do the laundry, sweep the floor, clean the toilet and make a meal then why waste all that time despising each task! As that could be most of the day feeling such displeasure when these jobs so often take up half our lives. If you hate the job you go to each day just to pay the bills, like it or not, then you may as well spend your precious time doing it willingly, happily, and doing each and every task, from driving to shopping, to cleaning, to cooking to the best of your ability. Use that time to enhance yourself, to promote yourself in the eyes of the universe, which in turn will change your future. Even if family, colleagues and your boss doesn’t appreciate your efforts, the universe does. So work at the old job well to attract a better one and more money. Do it for you, for god, as serving others does not go unnoticed in this cosmic energy… every tiny thing you do leaves its indelible mark in the ether. And if you lose your job for any reason don’t panic, just know you lost it because the universe has something better in store, and it will be revealed to you soon enough.

And you will survive so trust the process. It could be a job offer with less hours and better pay, or a business idea that springs to mind from the ether. So do your best work, like the Buddha scrubbing the same floor over and over, all day every day for a year, which seems pointless to many. But you don’t have to go to such lengths obviously, yet it’s teaching focus, discipline, concentration, awareness, contentment and gratitude, which empties the mind of thoughts that don’t serve you. Sloppy work, sloppy thoughts bring sloppy results, so love whatever you do, then it loves you!

What you value, values you in this universal mirror, so be grateful for the mundane job, because it pays the rent, puts food on the table, clothes your children, etc. And if it is no longer covering those things, that is because you hate your job, you feel little gratitude for the pittance it pays. Then you become even more miserable, feel unworthy and may treat your colleagues, clients and customers badly, and usually hate your boss who will offer no thanks or respect in return. Because it’s the vibe we emit that others respond to, our inner feelings are detectable. So if you’re a cab driver, be bigger than your job, get out and open a door for your customer, treat them like royalty, help them with their bags. Put some twinkly lights and colour in your cab, have a ready smile, put a little music on and sing.

And if you cheer up your passengers they in turn will brighten your day, as a smiley, happy customer is everything. You are adding sunshine to the sky, stars to the heavens, energy to the world and power to the cosmos. So get off your phone, it’s rude, or at least ask your passengers if they mind you making a call, if it’s urgent. As a little common courtesy goes a long way and the universe will always reward you for your efforts. It may not come back from that job, from that custom, but somehow it will return.

You may even start getting bigger tips and promoted to richer, chauffeur driven jobs. You might end up being the boss of your own fleet of cars and drivers. You might become the person you always dreamed of being. A successful entrepreneur, an established musician, an accredited actor, singer or winner. Because the small man who does his work well is picked up and moved on to bigger and better things by his fellow man who was sent to help us via the universe. So love the task you do and you will go far, and let me ask you this, has a simple cabby ever opened the car door for you in your lifetime? Why not!? Can you imagine how special the cabby that did that would become, and is it really so hard to just do that one simple, little act, making his passengers feel special? It would change the world for both passenger and driver as the little things mean so much!

So do the job you may detest to the best of your ability, and every night before sleep, rather than dreading the next morning and only looking forward to your day off, fall asleep dreaming of, and focusing on the job you really want to do in this life. And wake up feeling good knowing the universe is paving the way for your dream reality with more than enough payment for your skills. Think about the things you loved doing when you were young, before the bills and a mortgage dampened all your ambition.

Did you like fixing up and riding motorbikes before you had kids and had to exchange that for a 4 seated vehicle? What are your hobbies? Did you love making cakes in the kitchen? Did you enjoy making your own clothes, sewing, knitting, painting, craft work yet always told no one makes money from hobbies? What we are told and believe becomes our truth, but many make millions from their hobby. Playing football for one!

Did you love drama classes or singing and told there are a million singers and musicians, there’s too much competition and actors get nowhere, so you need to get a proper job and forget all those silly notions. Well just imagine if every celebrity, musician, singer and film star had took that advice and got a proper job. There would be too many people in proper jobs and not enough work for everyone, so we would all be slaving away each day in jobs we hate, with no entertainment! No TV, films, concerts, ballets, stage shows to take away the weeks drudgery. So thank god for all those who didn’t listen to reason and followed their dreams, or the rest of us would never know the music we love, or the songs we sing. We are meant to have this freedom to express ourselves, dream, and choose joy, ambition, excitement, inspiration and dance to the tune of our inner core.

Creating our own exciting destiny is what keeps us alive, so what dream are you working toward while stuck in your mundane job? Look at it this way, each task is your stepping stone to a better life, you are working your way up the ladder. A man I know hated his job, then was worried when he was losing it. He is now in a better job, less hours with more pay, and less hours means he has more time to enjoy his hobby now, which is amateur photography. So the universe is guiding him toward his new career, which is spending all his days snapping great pictures, experimenting with light and colour till eventually he can make money from the very thing he loves

I too have a dream, yet have had so many obstacles over the years you would not believe, broken computers, lost work, months and years of one delay after another. Yet I still held my dream in my head, I still said one day I will do this, no matter what happened to stop me I never gave up. And I’m still not there yet, when I pass one hurdle and believe that’s it now, things will take off, I will finally make some money rather than struggle to get by every day. Then everything stops, nothing comes of that next stage I had believed in so strongly, And yes I’m often disappointed, question why, and feel nothing will change when things don’t go as I expected. I doubt myself and often wonder why no one will buy a book!

But where many would say, ‘my plan didn’t work, the dream failed so I give up and must stick with my mundane job.’ I never gave up, I have my moment of self pity then get right back to it, knowing I haven’t done all I’ve done, been through what I have, and come all this way to fail. I love my work and know the universe will meet me half way. As the rich know, failure is merely a lesson, we’ll succeed if we learn from all our mistakes.

So what are you working toward? What dream lights you up? What great career does the universe have in store for you? Create it, love it, live it!
