Focus- Focus- Focus-: If we could take our minds off all the world’s problems and just focus on what we want for ourselves then the world would heal. Why do we have the news? It exists to programme the mind, so you feel frustrated, scared, sad, helpless and focus on all the worlds problems instead of just focusing on what you want for yourself in your life. And some would say this is a selfish attitude, which is another thing we’ve been programmed to believe, that to serve the self is wrong, but to depleat all our energy to serve all others is honourable when so many are suffering in the world. Well let me ask, can you fix them and all of their problems? Can you even fix all the problems of your nearest and dearest?
The answer to that is so often no, and why is the answer no? Because they too watch the world news and worry about everyone elses problems they also can’t fix, when they too should be focused on what they want for themselves in their own life. And what do we all want? Peace, love, good friends, a home, money, good health and a clean environment. So why are we all focused on each others problems instead? What good does that do?
Does focusing on everything that is wrong with the world solve our own problems? No! So you focus, not on your problems’ but on all the good things you wish to happen in your life! For instance… I had an ingrowing toe nail for years and when it got too painful I had to cut the nail back down, when I just wanted it to grow over the skin. So I kept thinking of putting a thin piece of plastic under the nail so it could grow over that plastic and by pass the skin. And I focused on that often, I didn’t focus on the annoying problem, but on the solution. Then one day I just realised I hadn’t cut my nail back for ages and surely it should be digging in by now.
So I checked and it still had quite a way to grow to the top, so I held in my breath for a few more weeks and dared to believe it was cured. And then I continued to focus on a normal nail, and it grew right over the skin, right over this imagined piece of plastic I held in my mind. It had no choice but to follow my orders of thought, deliberate focus, intent and pure belief.
