Last night I was thinking of all the people that have held me back in life so I never achieved my dreams, then I came to the realisation that nobody, no matter what they do can hold us back, we just use them as an excuse to stay in our often chronically disabling comfort zone, we blame others for our failure to advance, because no one is ever in a situation where they cannot achieve their dreams. Many seriously abused children use their pain and suffering as a catapult to fame and fortune. Michael Jackson, Tina, movie stars who look for love and adulation from fans because they didn’t receive that from their own family… even if it leads to a tragic end.

Like James Dean and Marilyn Monroe, etc, a bad start in life, or any serial abuser never stopped them from making it. Where as other victims go on to be abusers, or abused and controlled by others, and never reach the goals they planned for themselves. And even where the abused and controlled use marriage and kids as a valid excuse not to follow careers, that doesn’t stop the actor or singer who makes it from relentlessly pursuing their dream. I know it’s not perfect for them, and the ordinary man or women would never leave their family for months on end to film a movie, or go on tour and risk ruining their marriage, child’s confidence or self esteem. But my point is, they did not let anyone stop them acheiving!
