Here’s an important practice to help you attract whatever you want in life. Whatever job you do, love it or hate it, do it to the very best of your ability, even if that is just washing a few dishes or sweeping the floor. Do a good job, focus on what you do, be aware of the task and try to enjoy it. Don’t think; get this job done then I can get back to something more important, or what I enjoy doing. If you have to wash the dishes, scrub the car, do the laundry, sweep the floor, clean the toilet, polish the cat then make a meal, then why waste all that time hating those tasks. As that means we spend most of our day hating everything we do so what a waste of time and life.

If you hate the job you go to each day just to pay the bills, like it or not, then you may as well spend your precious time doing it willingly, happily, and doing each and every task, from driving to shopping, to cleaning, to cooking to the best of your ability. Use that time to enhance yourself, to promote yourself in the eyes of the universe, which in turn will change your future. Work the old job well to attract a better one and more money.

And if you lose your job for some unknown reason don’t panic, just know you lost it because the universe has something better in store, and it will be revealed to you soon enough, and you will survive, so trust the process. It could be a job offer with less hours and better pay, or a business idea that springs to mind via the universe. So do your best work, just like the Buddha scrubbing the same floor, over and over, all day every day for a year, which seems pointless to many. You don’t have to go to such lengths obviously, but it is teaching discipline, focus, concentration, awareness, contentment and gratitude, emptying the mind of thoughts that don’t serve us. Sloppy work and sloppy thoughts bring sloppy results, so you should love whatever you do and it will love you back! What you value, values you in this universal mirror, so be grateful for the mundane job because it pays the rent, puts food on the table and clothes your children.

And if it is no longer covering those things, that is because you hate your job, and feel very little gratitude for the pittance it pays. Then you become even more miserable, feel unworthy and treat your colleagues, clients and customers badly, and usually hate your boss, who will offer no respect or thanks in return. So if you’re a cab driver, be bigger than your job, get out and open the door for your customers, treat them like royalty, help them with their bags, put some twinkly lights and colour in your cab, have a ready smile, put a little music on and sing along. And if you cheer up your passengers they in turn will brighten your day, as a smiley, chatty, happy customer is everything. You are adding sunshine to the sky, stars to the heavens, energy to the world, and power to the universe. So get off your phone, it’s rude, or at least ask your passengers if they mind you making a call if it’s urgent. As a little common curtesy goes a long, long way and the universe will reward you for all your efforts. You might even start getting much bigger tips and be promoted to higher, richer, chauffeur driven jobs.

The small man who does his work well is noticed, picked up and moved on to bigger and better things by his fellow man who was sent to help you by the universe! Love every task you do, and you will go far, and let me ask you this, has a simple cabby ever got out and opened the car door for you in your lifetime? Why not!? Can you imagine how special the cabby that did that would be, just that one simple act in making his passengers feel special would change both their worlds, as the little things mean so much!

It means plenty in the eyes of the universe and you will be rewarded for all your efforts. Focus on the task at hand, pay attention to the customer, feel gratitude for everything you already have, own or borrow. Love the world and all it gives you, gaia is not selfish and shares its fruits for free. So you do the same, give a little, and payment will return from elsewhere. Be grateful for your job while dreaming of your dream job, it will appear.
