Here is a great story someone kindly gave me to post on my blog… When my grandfather was alive he used to do Littlewoods Football Pools every week without fail, he never missed a week, And after he passed away I thought perhaps I should carry on this tradition… oh and by the way he never won anything unfortunately. One day I looked to the heavens and said to my grandad “will you ask whoever or whatever is up there to give me a winning week please” I guess in a way I was asking the universe!

One year later I bought the Sunday paper as I always did to check the results, (this was in 1993 btw) I laid out the paper on the lounge floor, opened on the score draw results page in the back. I had my blue ticket next to the results, checking my numbers against the score draws on the results page in the paper, my bet was an 8 from 10 ticket… And for those of you who have never done the pools, basically 8 from 10 meant that I could choose 10 teams, but only needed eight of those teams to have a score draw in the football match they played, i.e. 2-2, 3-3, 5-5, 1-1 etc.

As I went down my choices, I’m counting 1 score draw, then 2, then 3… all one after the other until I got to 8 score draws… I must have checked that bloody ticket 20 times before I screamed “I’VE WON THE F**in POOLS” to my girlfriend at the time. Sure enough… I had won the pools, the paper said “Claims were moderate” and I received a cheque in the post a week later for £28,077.45p. Being so young I went out and blew half on a sports car (Toyota Supra 3.0L Turbo in white) & banked the rest. A true story!

That’s not my actual car but this is identical to the one I had… I felt like king tut driving this back in the day. I was pretty skint at the time too so it really helped me out, and I’m skint again today so I think it’s time I had another word with my grandfather as I know the universe is listening too.

So maybe we should all ask our lost loved ones for a little help, ask god, ask Christ, ask the angels, our spirit guides or the cosmos, it all helps. Nothing out there wants to see us struggle, nothing would deny us, we deny ourselves. Everything in the universe wants to give to us, but it is up to us to accept. If we feel we don’t deserve it, feel it is pure greed and selfishness to want more than enough to survive, then we will attract less. Then we focus on less, believe in less when our thoughts can be richer and achieve so much more. So when will you believe you are a winner?
