Many people ask… Why are we here? What is my purpose in life? Your purpose is to be, to live, to exist… That’s all, that’s it! There is no job you must do, and no job too small, no plan, no fate or destiny. You came here to be you, to experience this physical world. And you are enough, you are a magnificent creative being, you can do anything you wish, you are whole, important, your journey matters. The simplest smile leaves a foot print on someone else’s heart, holding the hand of someone in need, listening to a friend, giving the smallest of gifts, helping another human being. Loving your pet, guiding a stranger or teaching a child the way, that’s what life is all about, that is why we came here, and that is enough. Anything you do beyond that is your choice, an added bonus. We are the children of god and would you tell a baby it has to do something, otherwise it is useless, it’s life and existence is not relavant? Would you tell god he is not of use, or lazy if he did nothing more than sit on a throne? We are the god and the child, and just as magnificent in our own right without needing any purpose in life. So chill out, relax and just enjoy this incredible journey.
If there is something you feel compelled to do, and can’t help yourself, do it and suceed at it, then that is your purpose. Not doing it might make you dissatisfied but it does not make you worthless or over looked by god. You are the highest being in the cosmos, worshipped by god, spirit and gaia, so never dismiss your place in this cosmic web, as you are meant to exist! You are a piece of the puzzle, a king on the chesss board, so without you this game could not be played and the puzzle would never be complete. You would leave a void in the universe that is how significant your part is.
So there is absolutely nothing you need to do, only those around you doing something makes you think that, those who swear you are useless if you sleep late, choose not to get a job, not to go to university, not to clean your home. Yet there are times in life when sleeping, not working and doing nothing is not only a healing process, but a time of reflection, discovery, and working out what we really want to do with our lives.
It could be a time for a much needed mental and physical break, or a time to just have some fun. Like a student who goes back packing around the world for a year, or someone who just needs a holiday break after all their hard work. Yet that’s acceptable, but if we just stay home and do nothing for a year that’s unacceptable, we are made to feel guilty and ashamed, and forced to go out and do something. Who makes these same rules for one and not another? Why be proud of the back packer swanning around, taking a year off but not the home steader, what’s the difference in them?

The difference is people see a future for the student, they have something to come back to, a career waiting for them, schooling to start, a little money in their pocket. And the holiday maker has their job or business to return too, so they deserve a break. Where as we don’t see a future for the so called lay about with no university place, job or ambition, so, useless.
Yet at the end of this same rest period, if not continually nagged at and told how useless they are, causing a low self esteem they would usually come to the conclusion all on their own that they wish to do something. And eventually do something great, have a genious idea and plan that makes a real difference in the world, as some are slow starters like the turtle but eventually pass the hare to win the race. Never underestimate yourself or anyone else in this world, you never know the greatness others harbour on the inside, we all have dreams and dreams really do come true. Especially if we all gave each other a break, if those who haven’t worked out what they wish to do with their life yet just relaxed. Stopped feeling guilty, enjoyed each passing day, was gratefiul for all they had, and truly believed that whatever they wished for in life would eventually manifest.
